1. The "First 5 Minutes" Rule

  • For Bouquets: Trim about 1 inch off the stems at a 45-degree angle. This opens up the "veins" of the flower to drink water immediately.

  • For Vases: If your flowers arrived in a vase, check the water level right away. They can be "thirsty" after their journey!

2. Hydration is Key

  • Fresh Water: Change the water completely every 2 days. Bacteria is the #1 enemy of fresh flowers.

  • Flower Food: Use the packet provided! It contains a balance of sugar to feed the bloom and a tiny bit of bleach to keep the water clean.

  • Keep it Clean: Ensure no leaves are touching or submerged in the water, as they will rot and create bacteria.

3. Location, Location, Location

  • Stay Cool: Keep your flowers in a cool, draft-free spot.

  • Avoid the Sun: While flowers grow in the sun, once cut, direct sunlight will "cook" them and make them wilt.

  • Keep Away from Fruit: This is a pro secret! Ripening fruit (especially bananas and apples) releases ethylene gas, which causes flowers to age prematurely.

4. Refresh & Revive

  • Pruning: As some flowers begin to fade, gently remove them from the arrangement. This prevents mold from spreading to the healthy flowers nearby.
